●Reporting to Research & Impact Assessment, and working alongside a team, the Research Assistant/Analyst will collect and organize research in the form of summaries and literature reviews.

This internship will provide the following outcomes:

● Development of research skills in social support

● Experience in communication skills with survivors and handling delicate conversations and increased listening skills

● Exposure to international nonprofit and the ability to collaborate with team members supporting the mission

Interns work a 20-hour work week during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Please note we are extremely flexible around your work and school schedule. Internship beginning and end dates are flexible. Work will be performed at our National Headquarters in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. Academic credit for internships is strongly encouraged and enthusiastically supported. Please arrange for credit through your own programs and TAPS will provide all documentation necessary for you to receive credit for your talent and work.

➤ Responsibilities

● Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, and ability to synthesize findings

● Ability to navigate research databases to find and identify relevant research articles

● Prior experience in a behavioral science research lab is preferred

● Strong knowledge of APA format and compliance

● Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SPSS

● Create codebooks, databases, and clean data for analysis

● Experience researching and writing literature reviews

● Exceptional organizational and project management skills

● Sensitive to issues of grief and bereavement

Development Intern-TAPS Org

● This position works alongside a team in Fundraising and Event Planning. The Development Intern will work with our fundraising development team to support ongoing donor stewardship, campaigns, affiliate office fundraising and grant research.

● Assisting with department projects related to donor recognition and stewardship

● Providing database support by creating, updating, and managing donor data

Research Analyst Intern-TAPS Org

➤ Job Details

● Reporting to TAPS Research, and working alongside a team, the Research Analyst Intern will collect and organize data for analyses to be understood quickly and easily. Using research and communication skills, the Research Analyst will align research with TAPS programs and services to capture the impact on grief and bereavement.

➤ Responsibilities

● Working almost exclusively in Qualtrics: create surveys and prepare for the TAPS Research Team to share with TAPS internal staff
● Building Live Reports for surveys created and distributed
● Basic data analysis within Qualtrics systems
● Highlight critical open-response feedback from surveys
● Identify errors, communicate, and correct
● Identify patterns in data reporting and recommend opportunities for improvement

Pharmacy Intern - Outpatient/Ambulatory Pharmacy

➤ Job Details

Welcome to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The Outpatient/Ambulatory Pharmacy Intern position exists to allow for the growth, development, and education of students enrolled in a college of pharmacy. The interns further the mission of the pharmacy department by caring for patients, while enhancing their educational experience, and developing good customer service skills. Demonstrates competency in providing age-appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years, and select adult patients.

➤ Responsibilities

●Accepts prescriptions, establishes billing/patient charge, documents patient’s allergies correctly, interprets and enters outpatient prescription into the computer

● Prepares and packages injectables and oral medication for outpatient use

● Utilizes math and problem solving skills (i.e. algebra) to calculate amount of drug needed for preparation of prescriptions

● Dispenses medication and counsels caregivers on the medication. Manages dispensing information through the computer system including the patient’s profiles. Reviews patient’s profiles before dispensing medication for possible medication complications and takes appropriate action to correct problems. Complies with OBRA-90 regulations

● Provides drug information to health care professionals, patients and parents; instructs patient/parent on correct use of self-administered medications

● Maintains drug records required by Federal, State, and Local authorities

● Extemporaneously compounds medications which are not commercially available (i.e. suspensions, ointments, etc.) for both inpatient and outpatient use

● Replenishes pharmacy stock area and notifies pharmacist of any problems or concerns

● Answers the telephone and assists caller or forwards to appropriate individual

● Inspects medication storage areas in outpatient pharmacy for expired or unusable medication pursuant to JACHO standard under the direction of an outpatient staff pharmacist.

● Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the outpatient pharmacy.

● Actively enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy

● Eligible for a State Board of Pharmacy Intern License
● Must demonstrate ongoing Inpatient Pharmacy Technician I competencies, knowledge, and skills minimally.
